Ramatuelle
Ramatuelle is a village dating from the medieval period and has a beautiful setting huddled on a hillside surrounded by nature. The village is humble in comparison to the trendy celebrity side of its surrounding beaches of Pampelonne. The village is full of secret alleyways with hidden shops and cafés. The ochre façades and the pastel coloured shutters are decorated with jasmine, honeysuckle and bougainvillea.
Ramatuelle has a seafront spanning north to south, from Cape Pinet to Cape Taillat, with its rocky shores made of granite (Cape Camarat, Cape Taillat) and its white sandy beaches. The most well known of its beaches is Pampelonne which spreads over 4,5 km, other beaches include Bonne Terrasse and l'Escalet.
Saint-Maxime
Saint-Maxime has long been considered an ideal holiday destination, lying in the heart of Provence with an exceptional location and stunning views of nearby Saint-Tropez. The village is seeing a recent surge in popularity, attracting international holidaymakers due to it’s beautiful climate, southern exposure and beautiful beaches. Saint-Maxime is also a favourite with water sports enthusiasts and has a local sailing club, jet ski hire and diving clubs.
Gassin
Beautiful medieval stone buildings surrounded by nature and working vineyards, Gassin is a perfect destination for those seeking a relaxing summer holiday and also want to enjoy some of the action of nearby Saint-Tropez. Perched high up on a rock, it is less than 4 km (2.5 mi) from the sea. From the summit of the promontory, Gassin offers an exceptional view of almost all of the peninsula. If you are visiting for the day, park your car and walk through the ancient arches of the narrow streets that navigate around the medieval church and fortress.
Grimaud
Grimaud is a charming medieval village. Crowned by its Feudal castle, which, for a long time, was considered the guardian of the former Gulf of Grimaud, as the Bay of Saint-Tropez was called until the end of the 19th Century.
The village invites you to take a walk through the centuries, strolling along shady little lanes discovering remarkable sites providing calm and serenity, even at the height of the season, plunging into the heart of its history. The famous seaside town of Port Grimaud was created by architect François Spoerry in the 1960s, built with channels in a Venetian manner.
Yes, Saint-Tropez speaks glamour, celebrity and international status, yet Saint-Tropez and the surrounding locations offer a wealth of amenities and range of properties suitable to all client budgets and the town has reacted to the demands of younger renters.
