Savills Represents the American College of Radiology in Relocation at Two Liberty Place

Healthcare organization takes 10,527 square feet at trophy Center City office tower

PHILADELPHIA (February 5, 2020) – Savills has completed a 10,527-square-foot relocation for the American College of Radiology at Two Liberty Place, a 57-story, trophy office tower in Center City. Formerly located at 1818 Market Street, the College moved to the 28th floor of its new building at the beginning of February.

A Savills team comprised of Vice Chairman and Philadelphia Branch Manager Greg Soffian, Senior Managing Director Matthew Sall and Managing Director, Workplace Strategy and Project Management Andrea Borrelli advised the organization on the real estate solution.

“ACR has roughly 150 employees in the Philadelphia region, many of whom work remotely,” Soffian said. “This relocation provides the client with the opportunity to shed excess space and enhance the way the office operates. The group will leverage the consolidated, open-concept floorplate and move to a flexible hoteling solution with reservation-based unassigned seating. The efficient footprint allows ACR to significantly reduce annual overhead costs over the course of the lease.”

The relocation and shift in office format will allow ACR to reduce its Philadelphia real estate by a third. The space will be built out and designed to suit the organization’s specific needs. Utilizing a more efficient layout, the new hoteling concept will accommodate approximately 50 employees and encourage communication, collaboration and productivity among ACR’s staff. Two Liberty Place connects the Walnut-Chestnut shopping district with the commercial core of Center City Philadelphia and offers convenient access to SEPTA’s Suburban Station and the PATCO’s 16th and Locust Station.

“Savills helped us develop a program that accommodates our daily office-using personnel as well as the organization’s mobile contingency,” said Charles Apgar, executive vice president, ACR. “After being in the last location for 15 years, we now have a workplace strategy that aligns with the ACR’s culture and positioning, as well as an engaging environment for our employees and guests.”

ACR is a membership organization of nearly 40,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical physicists dedicated to serving patients and society by empowering radiology professionals to advance the practice, science and professions of radiological care.

The landlord was represented by Joe McManus and Morgan Murry of CBRE in the transaction.
